Fed: Oppn slams NBN forum as waste of time and words

Opposition communications spokesman TONY SMITH has slammed the federal government for
spending more than half a million dollars on a forum on Australia's broadband future.

Mr SMITH says KEVIN RUDD's speech at the forum in Sydney failed to give details about
the proposed 43 billion dollar national broadband network.

The Prime Minister's described the project as an historic act of nation building ..

that's essential for Australia to compete on the global market .. where internet speed
are up to 40 times faster.

But Mr Smith says the PM's speech amounted to just more Rudd talk.
